Ακούσαμε το άλμπουμ των Ιαπώνων DEATHROLL με τίτλο “Immorality”
Deathroll is a Japanese solo black metal project, singer, songwriter, musician, and black metal band. Born in Iwaki, Fukushima, Deathroll started his career in 2012 as solo black metal project and recently released his newest work, “Immorality”.
Deathroll’s newest release goes against the black metal standards while at the same time follows the very first patterns that was established in the sound. Like the primal sound of Hellhammer and early Mayhem, the Deathroll produces a devastating sound and chaotic. Still, the production is surprisingly polished, avoiding overlapping and offering the instruments the necessary space.
While in general the guitars are razor sharp sounding with less body and more high end, the Deathroll presents, also, some groovier riffs influenced by the American death metal scene. The songs in the “Immorality” are fast paced, since a big part of the record shows thrash metal influences. The aggressive attitude of the thrash along with chaotic and abysmal elements of black metal form a filthy and chaotic sound that grabs you by the throat. Also, the scream-like, torn apart vocals add a whole other layer of filth in the compositions, making the result even more abysmal sounding.
Without a doubt, the Deathroll have released a record devastating and crushing, a true sounding black metal album faithful to the genre’s roots. For me the “Immorality” has been the introduction to the sound of Deathroll, and when an album makes you want to listen more of that band, then I consider this as a success. The “Immorality” is highly recommended, if you are looking for a fresh sounding and interesting black metal work.
