Hello Primal Roots! Who are you and where do you come from?

Primal Roots is a multinational band based in Greece-Athens.

When were you formed, how did you meet?

The guitar and the bassist players met at work, then the singer joined them via an online add. We all came from different countries but somehow all ended up in Athens. We are Amira Debaieb (bass) TUN, Alejandro Ortiz (guitar) SP, Rach Cassar (singer) UK

How did you come up with the name Primal Roots?

Since we all come from a different country, we thought that our primal roots would be a good fit for us to represent our different cultures and traditions.

What kind of music do you play and what inspires you in writing music?

We did not decide on a specific genre. We usually play what we feel, but we

try to always keep it in the heavy side of music. Lately, we would put it more into the groove metal style.

Do you have any album releases?

We have one album released in 2020. We are planning to release a new groovy singer between September and October 2023.

What was the biggest difficulty you had in releasing this album?

Since it was our first experience, we had to learn everything ourselves and deal as well as accept all our mistakes. But we learned a lot.

What made you decide to make a metal cover of “Gangsta’s Paradise”.

It was a simple suggestion from our Bass player Amira, then everyone was on

board and we decided to have fun with it. Our singer is also fun of old-school HIP-HOP culture.

Did you enjoy a live performance?

Yes, we enjoy performing our songs live and share them with the people. It is always pleasure.

Who would you like to share a live stage with?

We are open to play and share the stage with any ambitious artist and bands really, but we think opening for COUNTDOWN would be cool.

What is your biggest dream?

 The vision is to keep having fun producing music to our best abilities and improve every time. Then, whatever comes next is welcome. The dream is to be able to play those songs inside and outside of Greece.
